Cataracts
What are Cataracts?
Cataracts occur when the normally clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy. Having cataracts is like looking through a dusty or foggy car windshield. Aging is the most common cause of cataracts and usually take years to develop.
Causes of Cataracts
Having certain medical conditions, such as diabetes
Spending alot of time in the sun without wearing sunglasses
Certain medications such as corticosteroids
Especially long term use
Family members with Cataracts
Previous eye injuries or eye surgeries
Symptoms of Cataracts
Sensitivity to light
Having dim, blurred or clouded vision
Having double vision
Yellowing or fading of bright colors
Frequent changes in eye glass or contact lens perscription
Increased difficulty with vision during the evening
